The University of Miami’s Climate Resilience Institute (CRI) is dedicated to building stronger, more resilient communities. CRI brings together world-class researchers, students, governments, industry leaders, and community partners to drive innovative solutions that protect lives, livelihoods, and our shared future.
CRI catalyzes interdisciplinary collaboration across the University from engineering, architecture and design to marine and atmospheric science, health and business. By leveraging the University’s broad expertise and forging partnerships locally and globally, CRI is creating a model for resilience that begins in Miami and serves as a blueprint for communities nationwide.

Research Seed Grants: Fueling breakthrough discoveries and supporting both emerging and established projects that advance resilience science and practice.
Senior Climate Resilience Fellowships: Attracting global leaders to mentor students, inspire innovation, and expand the reach and network of climate resilience research.
Disaster Response Planning: Developing a response and recovery framework and strategies to help communities prepare for and recover from natural disasters, with a focus on long-term positive impact for all.
Programmatic Funds: Advancing work in Risk & Resilience Tech, Resilience Finance, Heat & Health, and Project Preparation.
